Sub: my application No.BPCN-00103305-2025 for reconstruction of compound wall Sir, I am a retired Officer from ISRO, residing at Pullukad, Attipra Village, Kulathoor Ward of Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation. I have applied for reconstruction of a compound wall/retaining wall at the southern side of my property on 06/05/2025. A road is passing through this side of the property. Actually we have demolished the compound wall on 23/04/2025 and construction started. But the Corporation authorities interrupted the work by issuing stop memo dated 23/04/2025. It is stated that Rule 4 of KMBR 2019 is violated and I have to obtain permission from the Corporation to re-start the construction. I have visited several times but my application is pending with the Corporation. Today it is found through K-smart app. that my application is rejected for want of 7.3 M road width at the side of my property. At the side of my property the present width of the road is 6.10 M. Compared to other stretch of the road this is the maximum width. Once a private construction company (PPD-Prime Property Developers) has widened this road from NH bypass to Pullukad by increasing 1.25 M by purchasing land from the property owners at market rate for the purpose of obtaining approval for their villa projects near Pullukad. In this process from NH till end of my property the widening was at the right side of the road by 1.25 M. But after my property the widening by 1.25 M shifted from right side to left side and a curve is formed there at around 6.5 M length, where the widening effected at both sides of the road and achieved a width of 7.3 M. At the curve spot 7.3 M is existing and none of the property from NH road to Pullukad has more than 6.10 M road width. For re-construction of compound wall The Asst. Engineer is making unfair demand to surrender land on a par with other property owners, who sold their land at the market rate. The action from the Corporation side is undemocratic under the shade of rules. The BI & AE are standing with the antisocial elements, who are playing mischief. They have nothing to lose and giving trouble to common man. They are hiding the facts and the historic reasons due to which the 7.3 M width was arrived at the curve of the road. They have to show me which property has got 7.3 M road width other than this corner. I have purchased this property in 2003 and compound was existing so far. I have only 7 cents of land. Any delay in re-construction of the compound wall will cause serious damage to my house due to water logging at the eastern side and soil erosion to the road at the southern side (filled earth).
